Probrand Receives ‘Best Value, Best Practice’ Accreditation at GC Expo

Technology services provider, Probrand, is set to receive a landmark ‘best value best practice’ accreditation for its theitindex.co.uk/gov and theitindex.co.uk solutions from the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales (ICAEW) at GC Expo 2007. Both are powered by Mercato.

The accreditation is the first of its type in the UK and will shape the future course of public sector procurement, according to John Oates, Vice Chairman of the ICAEW’s IT Faculty and Baker Tilly partner.

And the Catalist approved supplier hopes to guide the public sector towards accredited ‘best value best practice’ procurement through a series of seminars on 12th June 2007 starting at 10:00 and 15:30 at Earls Court 1, room D at stand 807.

Speakers supporting Probrand will include Procurement Director for OGCbuying.solutions, Derek Rothwell, and the ICAEW’s John Oates - a research analyst who developed the ICAEW’s accreditation touch points.

The seminar programme aims to explore ‘Best Value, Best Practice - the procurement reality’, touching on key considerations of theory and practice that public and private sector organisations are faced with when trying to achieve efficiencies through a purchasing panacea. This will be contextualised against the government’s pivotal document on Transformational Government including the Gerhson Report.

John Oates will also discuss the rigorous procedures and testing that the solution had to forego to achieve the accreditation.
