At Probrand, we recognise the need to provide websites that are accessible to all, regardless of restrictions imposed by a user’s browser technology. The IT Index and Probrand websites are subject to continuous ongoing development, which not only improves the functionality of the sites, but also addresses accessibility and usability issues as knowledge amongst the web development community adapts to advancements in standards and technology.

At the basic level, good accessibility features include providing content as text, rather than text rendered as images, or, where images are used, to ensure that alternative text descriptions are provided.

A more recent development to the site has been designed to provide true separation of content from style. Separate stylesheet technologies now control the layout of the page. This method is now widely encouraged by web professionals with knowledge of web accessibility and forthcoming changes to the Disabilities Discrimination Act, which cover Internet solutions.
