Probrand Highly Commended At CIPS Awards
Technology services provider, Probrand, has been highly commended at the national Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) Awards 2011, held in London.
The business has been recognised for delivering in the 'Best Purchasing Initiative by a SME' category thanks to its innovation in procurement processes. Probrand was one of two Highly Commended recipients, the other being Jaguar.
The news follows a recent Queen's Award for Innovation 2011, for continuous innovation of its online IT procurement portal www.theITindex.co.uk
The CIPS commendation recognises www.theITindex.co.uk as an outstanding purchasing initiative that is helping Probrand and its customers get to the best priced ICT in the shortest possible time.
Described as Europe's largest ICT procurement site, www.theITindex.co.uk is free-to-use and daily updates a catalogue of over 150,000 products from more than 2,500 manufacturers, compared and ranked by best price and stock availability. Management reporting functionality offers transparent spend analysis, forecasting and reporting on all purchases.
Probrand Managing Director, Peter Robbins said: "This is a great time for us, we are delivering on our customer centric objectives of simply helping people buy IT cheaper and faster.
"Our technology is streamlining the task of buying by bringing together the UK IT market into one central location. It is helping people save time and money by removing the costly task of manually comparing, negotiating and then transacting with multiple suppliers. The CIPS Awards commendation is another achievement that confirms we use procurement excellence to deliver ICT."
This latest commendation concretes Probrand's credibility as an ICT procurement leader, having already received a CIPS accreditation for Procurement Excellence and an award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants for delivering fiscally with a Best Practice Best Value process.
